Friends and Markets

Is it really a years since i have done one of the local markets?

I have had the luxurious pleasure of visiting them since then and having time to engage with friends, fellow stall holders and customers from years gone by and taking in the ambiance that is a local market.

Today again i tasted the delights at Mullumbimby Farmers Market meeting with neigbor's and talking about our community.

A pleasure i am not sure i want to give up!

Corn Flowers, made from the husks of Corn.

In Central America Corn is the most frequently used food, normally these husks are used for making Tamales and the corn dried and milled to make Tortillias/Tacocs Drinks, Cakes, Patties............i could go on and on!

Cumquat Marmalade

This weekend its all about beating the Bats to the Cumqaut's.

We have had some 10 kilos already and made divine Marmalade, supplied it to cafes who have made the yummiest muffins with it, but as the last of them glow on their laden branches we need to pick them before the bats sit there munching all night and take the remainder.

SPANISH FILM FESTIVAL in BRISBANE

What fun we had in Brisbane this weekend!

Whilst wandering New Farm we came across this beautiful old style Cake Shop. It takes you back doesn't it.

For the Film Festival after 7 sessions LOPE and THE LAST CIRCUS being our favourites, we drank Lattes, Red Wines ate Asian and chilled at a very yummy place called Ortiga (spanish of course) were the lush interior and ambience made us feel we could have been any-were in the world, thank you Brisbane for a lovely weekend!!

BRR it's COLD

Most of Australia has been feeling the cold in the past couple of weeks, we have made our life warmer at home with a patchwork of these hand loomed 100% Wool carpets.

They are 150cm to 190cm square and every single one is completely different. They machine wash and are cheery and happy when the sky outside is grey and gloomy.

The Perfect Breakfast!

As some of you may know from the Frida Party last year one of our favourite drinks is Mexican Hot Chocolate! Well this morning it was the perfect breakfast, as i was saying earlier in the week its got cold here and what better way to celebrate a Saturday with a lush YUMMY treat..... i know i know you can be our guest next Saturday morning!!!!!

Whilst in Melbourne last week I ventured out for a visit to the Countryside! I was gobsmacked by Castlemaine. I thought i would run out of petrol as i drove up and down nearly every street admiring the regal architecture of days gone by, what a romantic...............

I love the double life i lead...........! Lush NNSW one day-Melbourne the next, yesterday it was so balmy in Melbourne I wandered the streets after dark, looking into areas i had long forgotten, exploring the exploding inner west, inspired by the new and delighted by the transformation.
